THE police killing of 22-year-old Jonah Gordon of Covigne Road, Diego Martin, is a throwback to three murders at Morvant more than a year ago.
Acting Police Commissioner McDonald Jacob visited Gordon’s neighbourhood after the killing.
The youth was said to have been shot by a police officer during an exchange of fire.
The killing is expected to be investigated by the Police Complaints Authority (PCA).
The PCA took a long period in probing the triple murders of three Morvant men on June 27, 2020.
Second Caledonia was the scene where the police shot and killed Joel “Lion” Jacobs, 38, Noel Diamond, 46, and Israel Moses Clinton, 27.
There were angry public protests by residents, who called for justice.
Last November, the PCA said it referred its findings to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
Nothing has since been heard of the matter.
At the time of the triple killings, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said the PCA had failed to deliver justice in matters related to police-involved killings.
Would killings involving the police ever be brought to conclusion?
