ONLY Covid-19-vaccinated business customers are being permitted to enter Republic Bank.
The country’s largest bank — $1 billion profit in the first three quarters of its current fiscal year – has made this clear in a letter to relevant customers.
In a sample letter to business clients, Republic said that from September 1, “we request only the vaccinated members of your organisation to attend to the ‘on-premise’ needs of the bank.”
The letter added: “We do not have any intention of verifying the vaccination status of the staff that you would be sending to our offices, as we place great confidence on the long-standing business relationship we share.
“However, we do reserve the right to spot-check and verify this information, if circumstances warrant us to do so.
“We trust that you would recognise the intention of this request, which is aimed at safeguarding our employees and customers.”
The bank brought back its full staff complement into its offices from September 1.
Unvaccinated workers are to undergo mandatory PCR tests from September 6.
Banking, Industrial and General Workers’ Union criticised the compulsory tests, terming it “a big stick approach.”
