Mr. Asif Ali

Permanent Secretary

Ministry of Health

Corner Park & Edward Streets

Port of Spain

Dear PS:

RE:          List of Paediatric Furniture and Medical Equipment at the Couva Medical and Multi-Training Facility for transfer to the North Central Regional Health Authority

Reference is made to the above captioned subject.

UDeCOTT notes the approval granted by Ministry of Health’s instruction to transfer the undermentioned list of items from the Couva Medical and Multi-Training Facility to the North Central Regional Health Authority. However UDeCOTT notes that there are significant discrepancies in the item quantities listed hereunder. Please allow us to clarify these discrepancies in the quantities of items requested for reallocation to NCRHA. The accurate quantity of the items identified under the paediatric Furniture & Equipment is as follows:

QUANTITYITEM DESCRIPTION
Twenty Five (25)Cribs
Ten (10)Kids Table and chair sets
Twenty (20)Toys/Books
Four ( 4)Incubators / (Incubator, Infant, NICU)
Four ( 4)Warmers / (Warmer, Infant, Care System)
Thirty (30)Infusion Pumps / (Pump, Infusion, Single)
Twelve (12)Cardiac Monitors (Monitor, Physiologic, Vital Signs, with Pulse Oximetry in Pediatric Depts)
Four( 4)Small Portable Monitors /( Monitor Physiologic, Neonatal)
Three (3)Ventilators / (Ventilator, Paediatric / Neonatal)
Fourteen (14)Portable Nebulizers / (Nebulizer, Compressor)
Seventeen (17)Diagnostic Sets /( Oto/Ophthalmoscope Set, Wall Mount, w/Sphyg)
One (1)Bilirubinometer, Handheld

With this uncertainty in view please clarify the item quantities and the respective items being approved for removal from the facility.  As identified many of the items relate to maternity services which now leave the labour and delivery rooms unusable for births at CMMF. Kindly indicate if there are any issues with such a decision, or if these services may be re-introduced in the future.

We wish to stress the importance of having a clear instruction and management of the removal of assets from the Hospital. UDeCOTT as the manager of the fixed asset register will need to have this documented and signed off by the relevant personnel involved in the hand-over of any assets under our care.

Yours respectfully,

THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO LIMITED

Ken Ali
