PIARCO International Airport is not among the world’s top 100.
The same agency, Skytrax, which named Piarco as the Caribbean’s best, did not include the Trinidad and Tobago airport among the globe’s leading 100 for 2023.
The world’s top airport was identified as Singapore’s Changi, followed by Hamad of Doha, Qatar, Haneda, of Tokyo, Japan, Incheon of Seoul, South Korea, and CDG of Paris, France.
No Caribbean airport is on that list.
Skytrax also named top airports in various geographical regions of the world, with a listing for Central America and the Caribbean.
Tocumen of Panama and Juan Santamaria, of San Jose, Costa Rica, were leaders in the region, followed by T&T’s Piarco.
Bermuda’s airport was named fourth, with Bridgetown, Barbados sixth, Kingston and Montego Bay, Jamaica, in seventh and ninth positions.
The airport in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic – a favourite holiday destination for Trinidadians and Tobagonians – placed fifth among those in Central America and the Caribbean.
