CONTRACTORS and suppliers at National Gas Company (NGC) are expressing frustration over the time they are forced to wait for payments.

And they are blaming the learning curve for company officials to master a new business software.

The new technological system is SAP Ariba, whose founders in the United States say it improves efficiency and cuts costs in the procure-to-pay process.

But several NGC vendors say they are now facing long delays in having their invoices processed for payment.

This is creating cash flow problems for contractors and suppliers, several of which are small and vulnerable to financial difficulties.

The frustrated NGC business associates insist that the problem stems from the inability of supply chain management personnel to properly operate the SAP Ariba system.

NGC has several technical and non-technical contractors and suppliers in a variety of fields.

The energy group had a previous track of an expeditious settlement of debts.

“We were often paid within two weeks,” one contractor said.

“Now the process is long, tedious, and wearisome.”

The company reported a profit $2.38 billion for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2022.
