MORE and more entertainment places, including cinemas, are facing permanent closures as a result of the lengthy Covid-19 lockdowns.
The analysis of cinema proprietor Derek Chin is being shared by a sample of others in the industry.
Chin said that around 3,500 workers are “grossly affected” by the prolonged lockdown, which he termed as “ill-conceived.”
The entertainment sector includes cinemas, night clubs and bars.
Chin said that “there is a loss of hope.
“This lack of recreation and relaxation has a negative effect on people and make them susceptible to a lower resistance.”
He complained that the sector has been closed “for a significantly long time.”
The national State of Emergency has been extended to mid-November.
