DID Nicki Minaj utter the outburst on “swollen testicles” to mask her husband’s conviction for rape?
Several people, including some in the American media, are asking that question, after Minaj’s outrageous claim about her cousin’s friend in Trinidad and Tobago suffering from “swollen testicles” after receiving the Covid-19 vaccination.
Minaj, 39, is a T&T-born, American-based rapper.
Her husband Kenneth Petty is a convict for sexual assault and recently failed to register as a sex offender after moving to the State of California.
Petty’s victim Jennifer Hough spoke out again about the crime, in which she was assaulted at knifepoint.
Hough told the US media that she spent years blaming herself, “hiding within myself, living and surviving through insecurities, using them to protect me.”
Speaking of Petty and Minaj, Hough said: “What they did to me and my family wasn’t okay.
“It wasn’t right, and it does not matter how much money you have.
“It does not matter what your status is.
“You can’t intimidate people to make things better for you.”
Minaj is said to be worth US $85 million (about TT $600 million).
Commentators have suggested that the entertainer made the outrageous statement to earn media attention away from the sexual assault issue, which is attracting fresh coverage in the US.
As for Hough, she is continuing to tell her story, stating that “all women’s voices deserve to be heard.”
