PEOPLE of Claxton Bay and environs are asking whether the Police Service is serious about solving the recent murders of a mother and daughter.
The residents are wondering why police investigators have not yet interrogated a certain female relative who is well known at Soledad Road.
They are murmuring about open threats that had been laid made by a female relative against Savitri Sooklal, 60, and her daughter Arianna Sandeepa Balgobin, 21.
The threats led to a certain male family member hurriedly leaving the country, residents said.
They stated that the warnings began shortly after Ramdeo Balgobin, Sooklal’s husband and Arianna’s father, died of a heart attack on June 27.
Residents are accusing the police of dragging their feet in the investigation.
St. Margaret’s Police told the media there are no leads into the killings.
The murders have stunned the quiet Soledad Road community.
Before the killings, a visitor to the home was heard demanding money which, he said, was owed to him.
Two loud gunshots were later heard.
The women’s bloodied bodies were later found in the home.
The murdered mother and daughter have been praised for their personal traits by residents and Pointe-a-Pierre Member of Parliament David Lee.
