A PAIR OF PARIAS

IN one part of the country, still-grieving relatives and conscientious nationals rallied to commemorate the second anniversary of the dreadful deaths of four Paria divers.

There is still no justice or compensation for the anguished families.

The status quo remains firmly intact despite the revelation of horrible “corporate manslaughter” and 52 far-reaching recommendations by independent enquirers.

The Board of Directors continues business as usual, and implicated high officials have had their employment contracts renewed.

Distressed nationals recall harrowing evidence before the commission of enquiry, including that of a victim’s daughter.

“When I got word of my father stuck in a pipe at Paria, I froze…”

In another part of the country, family and other loved ones grieve over the terrible slaughter of Ezekiel Paria, yet another casualty in our wretched killing fields.

“I don’t know what else to say, really,” his inconsolable mom cried.

“Right now it is just killing for killing sake.”
